How do you calculate the theoretical 5G NR throughput?
5G NR throughput is calculated using the 3GPP TS 38.306 formula: Throughput = Sum(j) [v_layers x Qm x f x Rmax x NRB x 12 x (Nsymb / Tmu) x (1 - OH)]. Our calculator integrates all parameters: Component Carriers, MIMO layers, modulation, code rate, SCS, TDD configuration and overhead.
What is the difference between EARFCN and NR-ARFCN?
EARFCN (E-UTRA Absolute Radio Frequency Channel Number) identifies 4G LTE channels with a fixed 100 kHz step (3GPP TS 36.101). NR-ARFCN identifies 5G NR channels with variable step sizes of 5, 15 or 60 kHz depending on the frequency range (3GPP TS 38.101), covering 0 to 100 GHz.
How does the Link Budget calculator work?
The link budget calculates the link balance between a transmitter (gNodeB/eNodeB) and a receiver (UE). It accounts for transmit power, antenna gains, cable losses, propagation model (UMa, UMi, RMa, FSPL), fading margins and indoor losses to determine if the received signal is sufficient.
What is GSCN in 5G NR?
GSCN (Global Synchronization Channel Number) identifies SSB (Synchronization Signal Block) frequencies in 5G NR. Defined in 3GPP TS 38.104, it uses three formulas depending on the frequency range to convert a GSCN number into an SSB reference frequency.
How do you identify a PCI conflict between neighbor cells?
A PCI (Physical Cell Identity) conflict occurs when two neighbor cells share the same PSS (PCI mod 3) or SSS (PCI div 3). The neighbor planning calculator detects mod 3, mod 4, mod 6 and mod 30 confusions between two PCIs to prevent handover issues.
