Bouygues Telecom France frequency bands

Bouygues Telecom holds five LTE bands covering low, mid and high spectrum, supplemented by 5G on band n78.

Technology Band Frequency Primary use
4G LTE B1 2100 MHz Urban coverage, capacity
4G LTE B3 1800 MHz Primary band, extended coverage
4G LTE B7 2600 MHz High capacity, dense areas
4G LTE B20 800 MHz Rural and indoor coverage
4G LTE B28 700 MHz Extended coverage, building penetration
5G NR n78 3500 MHz Primary 5G, high throughput

Bouygues Telecom retains 2G (900/1800 MHz) and 3G (900/2100 MHz) spectrum with a progressive 2G phase-out planned for 2025-2026.

How to check your phone's compatibility

1
Find your IMEI

Dial *#06# on your phone. The first 8 digits form the TAC (Type Allocation Code) that identifies your model.

2
Look up supported bands

Enter your IMEI or TAC in our TAC Lookup tool to get the list of frequency bands supported by your device.

3
Compare with Bouygues bands

Your device should support at minimum B3 + B20 for proper 4G coverage on Bouygues. For 5G, band n78 is required.

Bouygues Telecom network specifics

VoLTE & VoWiFi

Bouygues Telecom has deployed VoLTE enabling HD calls over 4G. VoWiFi is also available, particularly useful in high-attenuation buildings or dead zones.

4G Box for rural areas

Bouygues Telecom offers a 4G Box for households in rural areas not covered by fibre or performant ADSL. This box uses the 4G network as fixed internet access, with optional external antennas to maximize signal.

Rural coverage

Bouygues Telecom invests heavily in rural and transport corridor coverage. Its low-frequency portfolio (B20 at 800 MHz, B28 at 700 MHz) provides excellent penetration in rural areas.

Bouygues Group

As a subsidiary of the Bouygues group (construction, media, real estate), Bouygues Telecom benefits from a strong financial base and synergies with other group divisions for infrastructure deployment.

Frequently asked questions. Bouygues Telecom

What 4G bands does Bouygues Telecom use?
Bouygues Telecom uses five LTE bands in France: B1 (2100 MHz), B3 (1800 MHz), B7 (2600 MHz), B20 (800 MHz) and B28 (700 MHz). Band B20 is essential for indoor coverage, and B28 strengthens rural penetration.
Is my phone compatible with Bouygues 5G?
To use Bouygues Telecom 5G, your device must support band n78 (3500 MHz). Dial *#06# to get your IMEI, then use our TAC Lookup tool to check which bands your model supports.
Does Bouygues Telecom offer VoLTE?
Yes, Bouygues Telecom has deployed VoLTE across its network. Calls are carried in HD quality directly over 4G, without falling back to 2G/3G. VoWiFi (WiFi calling) is also available on compatible handsets.
What is Bouygues Telecom's rural coverage like?
Bouygues Telecom has invested significantly in rural coverage, notably through its 4G Box for areas poorly served by fibre. Bands B20 (800 MHz) and B28 (700 MHz) offer excellent building penetration and coverage in sparsely populated areas.
Will a foreign phone work on Bouygues?
It will work on 4G if it supports at minimum B3 and B20. North American models often lack band B20 (800 MHz), which impacts indoor and rural coverage on the Bouygues network.
Need to analyze the network?

HiCellTek measures signal quality band by band (RSRP, RSRQ, SINR) directly from an Android smartphone.
